Any hot hatch or sporty everyday car. The usual suspects — Golf GTI, Honda Civic Type R, Ford Focus ST, Hyundai i30 N, Toyota GR Yaris, Renault Megane RS, Seat Leon Cupra — all absolutely welcome. If it's driver-focused and you enjoy driving it, it belongs here.
We don't have a minimum power requirement. The roads are what makes this special, not a horsepower leaderboard.
Not at all. These are road trips on public roads — totally standard cars are the norm and completely fine. If you've added some tasteful mods, great. But there's no pressure and no judgement either way.
We're a hot hatch trip — that's the vibe we're going for. If you've got a more exotic car you want to bring, drop us a message and we'll have a chat. It's not a hard no, but we want to keep the character of the group consistent.
We'll send a pre-trip checklist a few weeks before departure, but the basics:
We also strongly recommend European breakdown cover — see the logistics section below.
Maximum 20 cars per trip. We keep it deliberately small — big enough to feel like a proper event, small enough that everyone knows everyone by name by day two. You won't be lost in a convoy of 200 cars.
A bit of both. We set off together in the morning, but you're not tethered to the car in front. The route is pre-planned and everyone has the same waypoints — so you drive the section at your own pace and regroup at the lunch stop or the day's destination. Nobody is racing.
We avoid motorways wherever possible. The routes are built specifically around the best driving roads in each region — Alpine passes, Pyrenean cols, mountain hairpins, flowing valley roads. That's the whole point. Every route is hand-built by people who've driven these roads before.
Comfortable and well-located — proper hotels, not budget chains. We look for places with good parking (ideally secure or at least off-street), a decent restaurant or bar, and a location that means you're not adding motorway miles just to get to your bed. We don't do camping or hostels.
Breakfast is included at the hotel each morning. Evening meals are not included in the base price — we dine together as a group, but the cost is yours (we find people prefer the flexibility). Lunch is on you too, typically grabbed on the road.
No. Registering interest is completely free with no commitment. Once we confirm your spot and you're happy to proceed, we'll send payment details. We don't take card details at the registration stage.
The trip price (per car, not per person) covers:
Not included: fuel, tolls, evening meals, travel insurance, and your car's running costs. Full breakdown is on each trip page.
Per car. So whether you're coming solo or bringing a co-driver/passenger, the price is the same. The room is a twin or double and accommodates two people.
We'll send full terms with your confirmation. In short: the closer to departure you cancel, the less we can refund (as costs are committed). We always recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation — it's worth having regardless.
You drive it. Our trips start at a convenient crossing point — typically via Eurotunnel or a Dover–Calais/Dunkirk ferry. We'll coordinate so the group crosses together where possible. Full details in your pre-trip briefing.
Most UK comprehensive policies include third-party cover in EU countries by default, but the level of cover may be reduced. Check with your insurer — many will issue a Green Card (now a letter of confirmation, actually white) for a small fee or for free, which confirms your cover level abroad. It's worth doing.
We strongly recommend European breakdown cover. AA, RAC, Green Flag, and various others offer this. If something goes wrong with your car in a remote Alpine valley, you want someone who can get a recovery truck to you — not just roadside assistance. We'll never leave you stranded, but having proper cover in place gives everyone peace of mind.
Some countries also require a reflective vest, warning triangle, and breathalyser — our pre-trip pack covers this by country.
Absolutely. Solo drivers are a big part of every trip — typically half the group come alone. You won't feel like an outsider; that's part of the reason we keep groups small. By day two you'll have a crew.
We never leave anyone behind. If your car has a problem, we stop, we assess, and we figure it out together. If it's something we can fix roadside, we will. If it needs a recovery truck, your breakdown cover handles that. We'll make sure you get to the destination for the night. We've dealt with it before and we'll deal with it again.
We drive on public roads, at legal speeds. The roads are brilliant enough that you don't need to do anything stupid — tight hairpins, long sweeping passes, cambered bends. Nobody is hooning past villages. The enjoyment comes from the quality of the road, not the speed.
Yes. Once your spot is confirmed, you'll be added to the trip WhatsApp group. It's a good place to coordinate ferry times, ask questions, get to know the other drivers before you meet in person, and share any pre-trip excitement.
Just get in touch. We reply within 48 hours and are happy to answer anything before you register.
No payment required. Just tell us about yourself and your car.
